Southeast Asia is where some of the world’s best business class seats fly, and almost every route from the US connects through a hub. Singapore, Doha, Hong Kong and Taipei each have an airline and a program that makes the trip work.

Picking the right hub is most of the decision. The program follows from it.

This guide goes deeper on the Asia section of our guide to the cheapest way to fly business class. The prices below are one way and were checked in October 2026.

Which programs book business class to Southeast Asia

Program Business class one way Hub
Singapore KrisFlyer 112,500 miles from the West Coast, 117,000 from the East Coast Singapore, with no fuel surcharges on Singapore Airlines flights
Qatar Airways Avios From 70,000 Avios to Doha off-peak Doha, with more Avios to continue to Bangkok and beyond
Cathay Asia Miles 119,000 miles Hong Kong, with Cathay’s fuel surcharges added
EVA Infinity MileageLands Varies by route Taipei, often with more seats for EVA’s own members

How rare the seats are

The prices above are chart prices, and a chart price only matters when the airline releases a seat to partners. In mid-October 2026 we searched seats.aero for the next two months. Singapore Airlines had no business class award seat on KrisFlyer from Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York or Seattle. Qatar Airways had two dates from New York to Doha, both at 140,000 Avios rather than the 70,000 off-peak price. United’s own nonstop from San Francisco to Singapore had seats on many days, at 250,000 MileagePlus miles.

So plan around flexible dates, or a few months out, and buy the miles only once a seat is open. If you’d rather not watch for one yourself, ask us to.

Choose your hub first

  • Singapore is the simplest. KrisFlyer books Singapore Airlines nonstops from the US and adds only taxes and airport fees.
  • Doha suits the East Coast. Qatar’s Qsuite flies from several US cities, and the trip continues to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and more.
  • Hong Kong works from both coasts, and Cathay connects to almost every city in the region.
  • Taipei is EVA’s hub, and EVA flies from more US cities than most Asian airlines.

The cheapest way to fly business class to Thailand

There is no nonstop from the US to Bangkok, so every award connects. The usual choices are:

  • Through Doha with Qatar Airways Avios. The Doha leg starts at 70,000 Avios off-peak, and the flight on to Bangkok adds more.
  • Through Hong Kong with Asia Miles at 119,000 miles all the way, plus surcharges.
  • Through Taipei with EVA, when EVA has seats for its own members.
  • Through Singapore with KrisFlyer, which adds a short flight back north to Bangkok.

Thai Airways is in Star Alliance too, so Aeroplan can book it on a connection through a Star Alliance hub. Check the total distance, since Aeroplan prices partner awards by it.

What each option really costs

The award price is only half of it. Here is what the miles cost at our rates in October 2026, before taxes and fees:

Program Award Miles cost Good to know
Qatar Airways Avios 70,000 Avios to Doha $1,050 Continuing to Bangkok adds more Avios. Our minimum is 10,000
Singapore KrisFlyer 112,500 to 117,000 miles $2,025 to $2,106 No fuel surcharges on Singapore Airlines flights
Cathay Asia Miles 119,000 miles $2,023 Plus Cathay’s fuel surcharges
EVA Infinity MileageLands Varies 1.8¢ a mile Delivered within 7 business days, so leave time before booking

Compare the total with the cash fare for your dates. Fares to Southeast Asia from some hubs are low enough that cash is worth checking every time.

How to find the seats

  1. Search the long-haul leg first. The flight across the Pacific or to Doha is the hard one to find. The regional connection usually follows.
  2. Search the program of the airline you want to fly. Singapore Airlines and EVA keep more seats for their own members than they release to partners.
  3. Stay flexible by a few days. One open seat either side of your date often makes the trip.
  4. Buy only after you see the seat. Find it, then buy the miles and book straight away.

When paying cash to Southeast Asia is cheaper

Cash can win when a business class sale from a Middle East or Asian carrier brings the fare near the cost of the miles, when no award seat exists on your dates, or when the surcharges on an award erase most of the saving. Run the numbers every time.

Buy only the miles your Asia trip needs

Find the seat first, then work out what you are short. Each program page shows our current rate, minimum order and delivery time, and you get a written quote before paying anything.

Flying somewhere else? We have the same guide for business class to Europe, Japan and Australia and New Zealand.

The bottom line: For business class to Southeast Asia, choose the hub first. KrisFlyer is the simplest for Singapore, Qatar through Doha is often the cheapest for Thailand, and Asia Miles or EVA fill the gaps. Find the seat first, then buy the miles and book.
