There's no miles transfer on Miles & More orders. Once you approve the quote we book the award, and Lufthansa issues the ticket in your name. Your confirmation carries a booking reference you can verify with the airline directly.

Yes, and the rules loosened: upgrade awards now work from all paid booking classes, with cheaper fares costing more miles to upgrade; long-haul economy to business typically runs about 30,000 to 70,000 miles. Award tickets can't be upgraded.
